I’m very excited about Christmas this year. This is the first year that I’ve ever had my own home during the holidays, so I am looking forward to decorating our house for Christmas. Part of this excitement is giving me excellent excuses to sew!

I’m working on a simple project right now that only requires 2 Charm Packs & this YouTube video from The Missouri Star Quilt Co. (Can you tell I’m lovin’ their videos right now?)

If you’re looking for a simple, last minute Christmas tree skirt pattern – you just might be in luck!

The pattern calls for 81 squares total. There will be 9 rows of 9 when I’m finished. It’s super simple. This would be a great 4-H project for sewing. DSCN7772

Unlike this cheerful Christmas fabric – it is a foggy, colorless day here in South Dakota. So, I’m going to park myself at the machine this afternoon with some hot tea & Pandora radio. DSCN7774

Have a wonderful Saturday afternoon!

Hey, I’m Sierra Shea! I am so glad you are here.

Where do I start with writing to introduce this blog? At the beginning, I suppose: I’ve been writing on various platforms online since 2013. I started blogging shortly after moving to South Dakota.

I am a mother and a maker at heart. I’m so grateful to be married to John and mother of three: Joslyn, J.D. and Jesse.

I am a self-taught decorator and designer. I am a brand new shepherdess and a Spiritual Director.

I love living in South Dakota, even though the winters & the wind can be a near-daily struggle.

Blogging is a grounding force in my life and it helps get me out of my head, unstuck and moving in the directions I always hoped I’d be going!
