Because of where we live and what we do, we drive so much. One of the things I like to do is take turns choosing songs during our drives. It’s wildly eclectic, nothing makes sense as a possible playlist, and there’s absolutely no cohesive vibe.

That’s okay though, everyone gets their moment in the sunlight and we are practicing taking turns and patience and all the things kids (and grownups) need to learn eventually.

The past week or so, one kiddo has selected a song that I happen to love as well: look up by Joy Oladokun.

The next kiddo is also having a moment with a song: Another One Bites the Dust by Queen.

These two songs go together horribly: but, maybe, I’ll always randomly associate them as a pair because of the last few days spent driving to town for school while listening to these tunes back-to-back.

Hey, I’m Sierra Shea! I am so glad you are here.

Where do I start with writing to introduce this blog? At the beginning, I suppose: I’ve been writing on various platforms online since 2013. I started blogging shortly after moving to South Dakota.

I am a mother and a maker at heart. I’m so grateful to be married to John and mother of three: Joslyn, J.D. and Jesse.

I am a self-taught decorator and designer. I am a brand new shepherdess and a Spiritual Director.

I love living in South Dakota, even though the winters & the wind can be a near-daily struggle.

Blogging is a grounding force in my life and it helps get me out of my head, unstuck and moving in the directions I always hoped I’d be going!
