Sit back and travel to a time not long ago when one Missouri man’s decision to take a chance on a cattleman’s dream created seven generations of cattle entrepreneurs and countless mostly true, larger-than-life stories along the way.

Sierra Shea, author of “Wild Man: A Mostly True Memoir of a Missouri Cattleman”, recounts her grandfather Luther Angell’s stories in amusing fashion. From hilarious blind dates and animal-related pranks to triumphs and misfortunes, it weaves a rich tableau of the Angell family’s livestock auction ownership and involvement in the beef industry.

Luther is the kind of grandpa every kid wishes they had, filling a room with laughter and astonishment with each story he retells. It would not be a cattleman’s memoir without seven bar stories, half a dozen pranks and a couple big cow collisions. He pauses periodically to describe his lifelong romance with Joan, his Georgia-raised gal. Even in their fifth decade of marriage, Joan still struggles to rein in her cowboy and his endless jokes.

There are no ad nauseam chapters in this book, rather 50 short stories with over 100 photos from Luther and the Angell family that bring life and color to each story.

How much is shipping?

All shipping on books is flat rate, $5 per order. If you order one book or ten, shipping is just $5.

Quilt orders will also be $5 flat rate per order.

How long will shipping take?
Please expect 5-10 days of shipping, because we use USPS media mail rate which is not as fast (or as expensive) as priority mail shipping.
Can I order on Amazon instead?
Well, yes and no. Yes, you can order Wild Man on Amazon. But, no, you cannot order Sheep, Stetsons & Stockyards on Amazon. This is because the first edition, hardbacks of Wild Man are sold out and now we offer paper backs both here and on Amazon. When the Sheep, Stetsons & Stockyards first editions sell out, we will reorder in paperback. At that time, both books will be avalaible on Amazon and the store.
Is gift wrapping an option?
At this time, no. I have offered that in the past, but it created more hassle than service in my opinion for all parties.
What about sales tax?
At one time, there was no sales tax on commerce orders for businesses located in South Dakota. This is no longer the case, so sales tax will be added to your order based on the address you include for shipping.

Hey, I’m Sierra Shea! I am so glad you are here.

Where do I start with writing to introduce this blog? At the beginning, I suppose: I’ve been writing on various platforms online since 2013. I started blogging shortly after moving to South Dakota.

I am a mother and a maker at heart. I’m so grateful to be married to John and mother of three: Joslyn, J.D. and Jesse.

I am a self-taught decorator and designer. I am a brand new shepherdess and a Spiritual Director.

I love living in South Dakota, even though the winters & the wind can be a near-daily struggle.

Blogging is a grounding force in my life and it helps get me out of my head, unstuck and moving in the directions I always hoped I’d be going!
