Last night my Mom opened her newsfeed on Facebook before heading to bed.

First, she saw my post and said to herself, “Sierra is planting soybeans in the dark in South Dakota.” 10344781_576355385811218_3822858127424625761_n

Then, she scrolled down and saw her #2 baby, Savannah. Mom said to herself, “Savannah is celebrating Norwegian Day in New Zealand.”

Just a little bit more scrolling and she saw daughter #3.

Mom said to herself, “And Seleste has been at graduation all day with her boyfriend.”

Moral of the story, babies grow up fast. They go places. They fall in love.

It wasn’t so long ago that four girls were all at home sharing one king size bed.

(Not because the house lacked other beds, but because sisters just prefer cuddling.)

But, today, today…Mom and baby #4, Schyler, are celebrating the end of the year 5th Grade picnic!

Nobody needs Facebook for that.

Just some elementary school fun, Subway sandwiches, and time with Mommy’s baby #4.

I know your mom must be so proud of each of you. It does seem like only yesterday you were all here in Boone County, sleeping in the swine barn during the fair! I so enjoy reading all your posts. Thank goodness for technology. It allows so many to stay in touch or at least catch of glimpse of how everyone is doing

Hey, I’m Sierra Shea! I am so glad you are here.

Where do I start with writing to introduce this blog? At the beginning, I suppose: I’ve been writing on various platforms online since 2013. I started blogging shortly after moving to South Dakota.

I am a mother and a maker at heart. I’m so grateful to be married to John and mother of three: Joslyn, J.D. and Jesse.

I am a self-taught decorator and designer. I am a brand new shepherdess and a Spiritual Director.

I love living in South Dakota, even though the winters & the wind can be a near-daily struggle.

Blogging is a grounding force in my life and it helps get me out of my head, unstuck and moving in the directions I always hoped I’d be going!
