This is such a happy time in our lives! This past week, I hauled all the stuff/junk/food/dishes from my house in town to the farmhouse & my Dad came to visit. It was his last chance before our big day.DSCN4772

When John & I merged our kitchens, we had quite a few doubles in the pantry.DSCN4879

I have been cooking in both places for the past 6 months, so naturally all of my favorite items ended up in both homes. DSCN4878 DSCN4877 DSCN4869 DSCN4867 DSCN4866Looks like we may have one conflict in the marriage. I like crunchy peanut butter and he likes creamy.DSCN4859

I think my Georgia-raised Grandmother “MaMoo” would be proud that I had creole seasoning in BOTH homes – just in case! DSCN4874

The whole farmhouse is a disaster right now, but things are coming along. I have gotten tons of help from neighbors, family and friends lately. I am so thankful for their help. I am heading home to Missouri this week & yesterday I finished moving out of my house in town. Now, all I have to do is a little cleaning.

My Dad was “super dad” and helped me move out the last few items on Father’s Day! He and Liz visited for the weekend and we had a great time. They stayed at the Prairie House Manor Bed & Breakfast. The food was AWESOME! DSCN4914

I made friends with the owner of this B & B while subbing in DeSmet. Their slow season at the B & B is during the winter, so he substitute teaches and works in town. Having our guest stay there worked out wonderfully, since the farmhouse is too small for guests!DSCN4918Thanks for reading!

How exciting, moving in! Great pictures of your dad, too. Pretty good for a going to be father-in-law. Good luck with all the last minute wedding preparations.

Hey, I’m Sierra Shea! I am so glad you are here.

Where do I start with writing to introduce this blog? At the beginning, I suppose: I’ve been writing on various platforms online since 2013. I started blogging shortly after moving to South Dakota.

I am a mother and a maker at heart. I’m so grateful to be married to John and mother of three: Joslyn, J.D. and Jesse.

I am a self-taught decorator and designer. I am a brand new shepherdess and a Spiritual Director.

I love living in South Dakota, even though the winters & the wind can be a near-daily struggle.

Blogging is a grounding force in my life and it helps get me out of my head, unstuck and moving in the directions I always hoped I’d be going!
