One way to reflect & practice thankfulness, it to simply look at our journals & instagram accounts & recount the best moments and blessings of the month that is just winding down, here are a few of mine.

My favorite ditch-bouquet gathering time with the crew.

My favorite family photo shoot from this month at the Fourth fo July.

My favorite afternoon in July was definitely returning to the children museum, I cried as we arrived and left.

My favorite beyond simple drink in July was water with clanking ice cubes & lemon from my colorful summer glass, each summer of my high school years I purchased a special summer cup & I feel back into it this year.

My favorite dress and shoes on repeat, I still avoid pants. I have three of the same dress in different colors.

My favorite kind of sunset drive with John exploring the countryside.

My favorite summer salsa for meal after meal after meal.

My favorite poolside afternoon with one sweet growing girl who I love.

Are you enjoying reflecting on the good, favorite things of this month? Me, too. I’m continuing the conversation off the blog and over at my experimental digital monthly newsletter, A Sacred Space by Sierra Shea. At the end of each month, I am hoping to write mercifully short reflection and then I’ll pose a question there for your consideration & personal reflection. This newsletter is $5 a month or $50 annually. (However, if reflection is your jam and that cost is prohibitive, please email me and I’ll add you no questions asked.) Perhaps, think of it as a tip jar if you’re enjoy the near-daily content I’m sharing on social media & beginning to share on the blog. One of my aspirations as I begin this creative work online again, is to keep this blog ad-free and focused on serving readers. I’ll continue to share products from my favorite brands, at no cost to readers & I’ll always let you know about my affiliate/brand ambassador status. If you choose to sign up, it will bill as a recurring subscription to your card & the reflection will come directly to the email address you provide. Your email will never be shared. And, Substack is the platform, you can read more about their goals here. Since I’m just beginning, the July reflection + question is open to the public. Thank you in advance for supporting this work in any way: tagging friends, reading, commenting, donating, ordering products, using links, chatting with me in messages about what’s helping & resonating. It all matters so much. Thank you!

Hey, I’m Sierra Shea! I am so glad you are here.

Where do I start with writing to introduce this blog? At the beginning, I suppose: I’ve been writing on various platforms online since 2013. I started blogging shortly after moving to South Dakota.

I am a mother and a maker at heart. I’m so grateful to be married to John and mother of three: Joslyn, J.D. and Jesse.

I am a self-taught decorator and designer. I am a brand new shepherdess and a Spiritual Director.

I love living in South Dakota, even though the winters & the wind can be a near-daily struggle.

Blogging is a grounding force in my life and it helps get me out of my head, unstuck and moving in the directions I always hoped I’d be going!
