Meet my first guest blogger! She’s sweet, fun and totally in love with spring. Last week, I spent a wonderfully long set of days in Missouri. While I was home, I asked Schyler if she would consider lending my blog her photography skills. She was happy to take on the task. Originally, she wanted to start her own blog, but we decided a “guest blogger” was a better idea for now.

I call her the barefoot photographer because she took all of her photos shoeless in our backyard! If you know Schyler, she is pretty much ALWAYS barefoot. Notice how her shoes and jacket are tossed to the side? It is always like this with Schyler.

Hi, I’m Schyler.

I’m Sierra’s 10-year-old sister. I take photography in The Centralia 4-H Club. As many of you know this spring has been kind of rough as far as weather goes. So, every chance I get to play outside I like to take advantage of it by:

climbing trees
playing with the dog & kittens
swinging on my rope
and getting muddy!

I’d like to share spring with you through my camera lens. Once you have looked at all the photos please vote on your favorite by commenting at the bottom of this post with the number of your favorite. In a week or so, Sierra will count up the votes and determine the winner. Then, the winning photo will then be sent to the county fair for as an exhibit by me! I hope you enjoy my spring photos & thanks for helping me pick one to send to the fair.

These are my four favorite photos from the yard. Tomorrow, Sierra is going to post 5 more photos that I took of our pets! Thanks again for helping me choose a photo for the fair!

Love, Schyler (The barefoot photographer)

A Note from Sierra: If you have never commented before, it is very easy. You do not have to have an account with the blog site. All you have to do is enter your email address to post your comment. It takes less than 2 minutes. It won’t show up right away because I have to approve them! Thanks!

Hey, I’m Sierra Shea! I am so glad you are here.

Where do I start with writing to introduce this blog? At the beginning, I suppose: I’ve been writing on various platforms online since 2013. I started blogging shortly after moving to South Dakota.

I am a mother and a maker at heart. I’m so grateful to be married to John and mother of three: Joslyn, J.D. and Jesse.

I am a self-taught decorator and designer. I am a brand new shepherdess and a Spiritual Director.

I love living in South Dakota, even though the winters & the wind can be a near-daily struggle.

Blogging is a grounding force in my life and it helps get me out of my head, unstuck and moving in the directions I always hoped I’d be going!
