Five Favorite Quilting Blogs

Pinterest is a great place to look for a quilt inspiration. But, if you’re like me, sometimes you just want to read more about the quilt creation process from beginning to end. That’s where quilting blogs come in:

Here are a few of my favorites…please add yours in the comments below.

  1. From the Blue Chair
  2. In Color Order
  3. Gen X Quilters (and Y, too)
  4. Cluck Cluck Sew
  5. Simplify

In Color Order has a fun post every Friday where she shares nine pretty quilts from Flickr. It’s a great source of inspiration. Simplify has a great favorite supplies list that I have found very helpful in the past.

New Embroidery Project

I started a new handwork project this week! I’m at the point of being very worn out now because 80% of my energy seems to go to carrying around & finishing cooking this heavy baby. I’m at 35 weeks.

photoSo, I just sit in my little rocker and do handwork. And, I am going to take my handwork to my WEEKLY doctors appointments. So. many. appointments. so. much. driving.

The handwork seems to be relaxing and calming when all my nervous first-time-mama energy is wearing on my nerves.

Happy blog hopping! I hope you enjoy those five blogs.

Hey, I’m Sierra Shea! I am so glad you are here.

Where do I start with writing to introduce this blog? At the beginning, I suppose: I’ve been writing on various platforms online since 2013. I started blogging shortly after moving to South Dakota.

I am a mother and a maker at heart. I’m so grateful to be married to John and mother of three: Joslyn, J.D. and Jesse.

I am a self-taught decorator and designer. I am a brand new shepherdess and a Spiritual Director.

I love living in South Dakota, even though the winters & the wind can be a near-daily struggle.

Blogging is a grounding force in my life and it helps get me out of my head, unstuck and moving in the directions I always hoped I’d be going!
