I’m the type of person who sometimes enjoys the parades of life more than checking pastures.

Do you know what I mean?

Parades are special and fun. There are only about one or two a year.

I always cry when the American flags roll by and dance along a bit with the bands.

But, checking pastures is an all summer on-going event. It feels a bit more mundane.

Yet, getting to a parade requires planning and parking and coordinating and snacks and toys and a stroller and a camera, too.

Whew.

But, checking pastures is impromtu and easy. There’s no diaper bag and no snacks, sometimes we just load up and go.

But, both are good.

And, this Saturday we squeezed in both the normal and the extra special.

It made for a good day. I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Hey there... I'm Sierra!

I love to blog, plan, organize, decorate, teach, research & be creative. I’m a farm wife & mama of three kiddos: almost 6, 4 and almost 2. We love to live and work in rural South Dakota. A few years ago we remodeled a house & we call our home The Peacock Ranch.

I am earning a Spiritual Direction Certificate from Sioux Falls Seminary & I put my masters in English/Mass Communications on hold at South Dakota State University so I can focus on being a mama in a pandemic! In the meantime, I’m enjoying reading more & writing here on the blog.
